# Search Filters

Unlike Search Settings which control your own profile appearance, Search Filters are entirely about refining your search results.

**Important note:** Some filters act as soft preferences rather than strict rules - this ensures you always see an adequate number of matches, especially as the platform grows. As the GameSync community expands, filters will become increasingly precise.

The following filters are hard rules and will never be overridden:<br>

* Age preferences
* Language preferences
